Finished this book late, late last night up till 3:30am.

After the 63% in I just could not put it down, such anguish, Lisa you had me crying could not put it down and then you had to throw in the little surprise twist that had me going *oh NO!!!!* I nearly died. I loved both these characters, and to be honest I got a little bored with all the I love you's, but it wasn't about there love it was about trust and insecurities and strength they both needed to find!

The ending was absolutely beautiful and very well put, though you did leave us with a bit of a cliff-hanger in regards to the other characters. But I guess that's what sequels are for and I look forward to Jades & Tyler's story as I can guess already what her story line will intel, not to mention poor Gwen and her story though. I have to say I don't fancy Reid even with his excuses you don't do what he did to the love of his life by going after her sister! I know Reid was not happy with his outcome in life, but hey if Dane can fight for what he wants regardless and he had nothing, Reid what was your excuse again???? Sorry, poor little rich boy!

Love Dane's & Alexis POV in this book and though it got a little drawn out with all the love the writing and style had me wooing "where do you find guys like him???" I guess thats why they call it fiction, haha. Lisa I loved the book and look forward to your next one!

Glass Hearts edition by Lisa De Jong Jennifer RobertsHall Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

If you haven't read Plastic Hearts, you shouldn't read this review. I don't want to ruin anything for you!

***
"Being in love is different from loving someone. It hits you harder when it all falls apart."

I was pretty content with how things ended in Plastic Hearts, but also ecstatic to learn that there was going to be a sequel. You can never get too much of the characters you love! Alex and Dane are one of the sweetest couples I've ever read about. I love to see a couple beat the odds.

Glass Hearts picks up right after Alex and Dane are reunited. Aside from a couple of spats, it's pretty much smooth sailing for these two in Glass Hearts. This book really delves into what goes on in relationships once reality finally sets in. Both characters deal with their own personal issues and vices; however, Dane's issues are pretty heavy since he's a recovering addict.

In the first book I feel like you really get to know Alex, but in Glass Hearts the focus is primarily on Dane. He has a heartbreaking past and I loved getting the opportunity to learn more about him through flashbacks. He was the perfect boyfriend to Alex.

Lisa De Jong really has a knack for expressing her character's feelings on the deepest level. I could feel Dane's pain. I think that has a lot to do with the dual POV's, because you know what both characters are thinking the whole time. I have to admit, there were a couple of instances throughout the book that I really started itching for some drama. There was a little bit, but nothing too earth shattering. Alex and Dane seem really wise the whole time. I'm glad they were happy, but I needed some more angst.

All in all, I enjoyed spending more time with Alex and Dane! If you loved Plastic Hearts, I definitely recommend that you read this sweet, sweet conclusion to Alex and Dane's story. It ends on a sweet note with a super fabulous epilogue! Thank you, thank you for that epilogue!! I can't wait to read more from Lisa De Jong!

Side Note I LOVE Reid, Alex's boss. Apparently, he used to date Alex's sister, Gwen, and it didn't end well. Once he came into the book, he was all I wanted to read about! I just kept waiting for him to pop back up in the story and stir the pot. Imagine my excitement when I found out Gwen is getting a book!!! Yay! I'm expecting lots of drama in that one. Reid was such a jerk...AND...I just couldn't get enough of him. As you can see, I'm just a little bit crazy excited for their story.
**Spoiler-ish if you haven't read the first book of the series, Plastic Hearts**. The book starts off with a prologue from Dane's twelve year old POV. We get a glimpse into his past & it is absolutely heart breaking. Dane's mom is an alcoholic & NO CHILD so young should have the responsibility of taking care of himself & a younger sibling. The book is told from both Alex & Dane's POV's. GH picks up where PH ended. Even though Alex & Dane are now living together, he is still afraid that Alex will leave him if her parents make more demands of her. Both have matured during their separation but need to reconnect. Alex tells her parents that until they can accept Dane that they will not have a relationship. Dane has so many concerns about the future but doesn't want to further damage their frail relationship. Throughout the book Dane still struggles with his family & their demons. Now on her own, Alex needs to find a job. She starts working at (Club 21) with Dane. At first the owner seems very interested in her & when he finds out her full name he begins to act coldly towards her. Dane's jealousy may cost both of them their jobs. I liked that through Dane's POV we get to learn more about the conversations he's had with Alex's father. One night Dane's jealousy boils over & Alex is forced to give him some space. When tragedy strikes Alex rushes to his side. I fell in love with Dane & Alex in PH & am sad to see their story end. I definitely want more of their story because they are terrific characters that have so much to look forward to. Hopefully we'll get to check in on them when we get Gwen & Jade's stories.
